- Nano-Convergence Foundation
It was established in September, 2012 to carry out Nano Convergence 2020 Program, joint for supported by the Ministry of Science, ICT and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
- Mission
The mission of Nano-Convergence Foundation is to support commercialization of nanotechnology and to provide a new growth engine for future economy attracting various kinds of technology convergence, as early as possible. We have developed nanotechnology about last twenty years under the government’s full support and come to reserve strong competitiveness. Meanwhile, nanotechnology market has also grown acceleratedly and been estimated as 5 trillion dollars in 2020. It is time to promote fast commercialization of nanotechnology in order to occupy a new market in advance.
- Role
The Nano-Convergence Foundation has played a role to fill the gap between Ministries, research programs with different level, and public-private sectors and facilitated rapid transfer of research outcomes as well as knowledge from the public sector to the private sector seamlessly. In addition, the NCF has been eagerly persuing excellence in nanotechnology development and subsequent commercialization through constructing mutual trust between stakeholder in the nanotechnology area. This role of NCF has been implemented through Nano-Convergence 2020 Program, leading to significant achievement in the commercialization of nanotechnology.
